The Relationship among Motives for the Selection of a Hospital, Satisfaction with Services in a Hospital and the Revisit Intention of Outpatients

Abstract
Purpose:The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship among motives for the selection of a hospital, satisfaction with services in a hospital and the intension of outpatients¡¯ revisit.

Method:The research period ranged from December 10, 2003 to December 20, 2003. The questionnaires were collected from outpatients visiting G-university hospital in J city. Data were Analyzed descriptive statistics, t-test and Pearson correlation coeffcient using SPSS Win 10.0.

Results:The score for motives for the selection of the hospital was 3.06 (1-5 range) Satisfaction with services in the hospital was 3.10 and the intension of revisit was 3.68. The correlation among motives for the selection of the hospital, satisfaction with services in the hospital and the intension of revisit was motives for the selection of the hospital and satisfaction with services in the hospital(r=.796, p=.000), motives for the selection of the hospital and the intension of revisit (r=.429, p=.000), satisfaction with services in the hospital and the intension of revisit (r=.492**, p=.000).

Conclusion:This study shows that the subjects with high motives for the selection of the hospital turned out to be highly satisfied and to have high intension of revisit for their satisfaction influence future revisit. In this context, it is absolutely necessary that service procedures should be improved and that the inconvenience factors should be removed with the establishment of good strategics.
